Willoughby Brewing Company

June 19th, 2010 by Jillian Nichols

You have to travel outside of Cuyahoga County to get to the Willoughby Brewing Company, but it’s a trip that’s worth it. With valet parking and over-an-hour’s wait to be seated, you know that this place is pretty popular on the far-east side. I didn’t mind waiting an hour because it gave me the perfect excuse to pull up a chair at the bar and squeeze in an appetizer before dinner. I went for Buffalo Chicken Dip and the Northern Trail Brown Ale, and loved both.

Since it’s a brewery, you have to get their sampler. $7 is a small price to pay for a whole heck of a lot of good beer. If you prefer your beer at home, you can get a growler (half gallon) or even a keg to go. A hot item on the menu among my group of friends was the mashed potato pizza – can’t go wrong with carbs on top of carbs.

Young lads, be wary of cougars on weekend evenings.

If you live if the area and are looking for a place to go out during the week, Thursday nights is ladies night (Dollar Drinks) and a DJ. Depending on the season Brew Co. (As the locals call it) is normally packed full of people looking to have a great time!

  2. Great info, thanks Lisa!
